Question by lovslinky: Traveling down the west coast from Seattle to San Francisco…What to see?
We are thinking of traveling from Seattle to San Francisco this December and we are wondering what the “must see’s” are. What are some great things to see in those cities? Any suggestions on where to stay? What should we see along the way?
We are interested in good restaurants, museums, shopping, and major sites.
Thanks, any help will be appreciated!

No question – you have to see the Coast Redwoods. They are unbelievable.San Francisco has tons of great museums and just to explore the city is fun. China town, the Golden Gate Bridge, the wharf. The restaurant on top of the Bank of America (very unusual building) is fantastic.

What’s the best way for a tourist to make frequent local phone calls in in USA West Coast?

Question by curioz: What’s the best way for a tourist to make frequent local phone calls in in USA West Coast?
I’ll be travelling to US in Oct from Singapore, landing in LAX in L.A. I will be touring Calfornia, Las Vegas and Grand Canyon. As I would not have booked most of my accommodations when I arrive, I would need to make a lot of phone calls (both local and inter-state) to book hotels. I think using my Singapore cell phone (with roaming facility) would be too expensive. What other cheaper ways are there? Eg calling card etc? Where can I buy such cards?

Any grocery store (Safeway, Vons) You cna also get a “disposable” cell phone for which you buy minute cards. The phone will cost $ 15-20, and you can can 200 minutes for $ 49.99. IF you just get a calling card it will be difficult to find phones to call from. The grocery stores sell them as do target, kmart, walmart, etc. Best brands: verizon or Virgin.

No, the closest is one stop with Air France via Paris. Air France flies to several West African cities, such as Dakar, Senegal.
Delta Airlines flies via Atlanta to Dakar.
Why do you want to go specifically to West Africa, and which country in particular? Getting around within that region can be tricky logistically and budget-wise, so I’d definately suggest specifically flying to the place you want to go to. For most options, I’d suggest enquiring with Air France.
If you look anything like your Avitar, I would not go alone to places like Nigeria.
