I just came back from New york and I live in Britain. Is american life all that different from Britain and are there any tips to stop me wanting to go back

I am going to San Fran in two days. Please tell me how to do this trip via public transportation. I will be coming from the SFO airport area so I imagine I should take the BART.
Here’s my agenda:
Pier 43 1/2 to take the Golden Gate Bay Cruise (1 hour cruise)
Pier 47 on Al Scoma Way to eat lunch at Scoma’s Restaurant
Pier 39 to get to Fisherman’s Wharf
back to the SFO airport
I believe I will take the BART out of SFO unless I can take the bus. Time is not of the essence as I have all day to do any of this. Thanks in advance!
Thanks everybody. I plan on not carrying my purse with me at all. I am kinda tall and big so I think I would feel if someone was up on me.

take BART to and from SFO. You can walk around all the piers at the Wharf.

I am considering taking the AMTRAK train to San Francisco for approximately three days. I want to know what station should I get off at and what hotels are nearby. I expect this to be a walking trip so I was thinking of getting off at the Fisherman’s wharf. What hotels are nearby? Please help!
Hi all, thanks for the responses. I found out that the train will let me off at these places:
Ferry Bldg
Financial Center
Fisherman’s Wharf
Moscone Center
Peninsula Line
Union Square
Does this change anything? I’ve been to Fisherman’s wharf about 8 years ago. At the time, I stayed in San Mateo and took a bus to that area. I just hopped on a bus and went back to the hotel later that day.

I think there’s only one AMTRAK station, and it’s not in the best area in the city. Public transportation is great, so you don’t need a car if you want to stay in the city, but there’s so much to see outside SF that a car for a day or 2 would be a real advantage.

What are the cheaper ways to get flights to do so? I’ve checked Singapore Airlines website and the route costs >S$ 5000! on economy! Maybe it’s because SQ planes don’t fly from HK to Bangkok. Any cheaper ideas?

I’m Oode from Thailand. I work for the government. This is the 1st time I use this website ‘cuz we are going to have a meeting in Canada and have some question. then I c yr question.
I think u can fly to Bangkok, and stay here for 3-4 days then fly to Phuket which is in the south of TH. All tourists love to go there..just go on the web then u can c everthing. Phi Phi island is the most beautiful reef in asia. your son can feed the fishes around himself. I believe that he will have fun there.
You can take a cheap flight to Malaysia and singappore. Sometime thaiairways give you a promotion on the trip you want.
I think only in thailand for this trip then nect trip to other countries…otherwise u will miss so many things. if u need more info pls let me know.
Don’t forget to bring yr son go to Nong nuch Park at Pattaya. he will c elephants play soccer, ride a bicycle, and so on.

Hi all! A friend of mine is in BIG trouble. He got his girlfriend pregnant a while back by accident. She said she was on the Pill but she lied to him. They broke up and now she’s with another dude. The dude she’s now with has even threatened to physically hurt him if he doesn’t pay up. He’s a really young guy. He’s 19 and she’s 18. The dude she’s dating now is like over 35. It’s a really messed up overall situation. He didn’t want the baby but she had it anyway. He said he got a letter in the mail from her public defender lawyer demanding backed up child support to be paid of over $ 5,000 in just under a year. He laughed about it because he only makes about $ 750.00 per month working at Burger King. He has no money saved up. He really has no future right now. Can a woman make a man pay child support if he didn’t want a baby? My friend in big trouble. HELP! Could he go to jail? He lives in New York. He said he won’t give her a penny because he said she should’ve had an abortion or put the baby up for adoption. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks!

LMAO. Sorry but your buddy is screwed. Whether he wanted it or not, he’s gotta pay. He can request a paternity test to make sure it is his. But he has to pay.
Will he go to jail? I’m not sure. But I know the court can garnish his wages and give a percentage to her.

Those are a lot of general questions. You’d do a lot better with a good guidebook to Washington DC than just short answers here. Online, Frommers (www.frommers.com/destinations/washingtondc/) is a good place to start, but the best thing would be to go to the library and get a couple of different guidebooks to get a variety of opinions. Enjoy your trip!
