Question by : Where is a best place to stay during a backpacking trip to Singapore?
I’m backpacking round Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore around December-January next year.. And was wondering about cheap good accommodations you’d recommend, like hostels, rented holiday home/apartments? hotels?
And any websites would be handy…thanks:)

I cant recomend a spesific place,but i found the “hostelworld.com” website very usefull for good and cheap accomadation. I used it on a Thailand,laos,cambodia, vietnam and china backpacking trip last year.

So, I’m planning to go for a trip from London to 5 Asia (Pacific) countries – Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, The Phillipines and Singapore. My plan is to stay in each country 3 days (+/-) and then to move on to next country and so on. Is there any travel agency who can help me with flight plans? I don’t need hotels or catering stuffs, i’m single so will handle those by myself. Also, if you can provide any information of any cheap airnetwork operating in asia pacific – i can arrange my flight plans there.
Any input will be appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance.

AirAsia, Jetstar, Tiger Airways, Pacific Airways all operate in the region. But why only 3 days in each country? If you have a time constraint I recommend spending more days in fewer countries, only because there is SOOOO much to see/do. A good website to look for flights is Whichbudget.com. It has information for budget airlines all around the world.

I’m planning a trip along the California coast starting in San Francisco to either Santa Monica or Las Angeles. I’m looking for suggestions on the best places to rent a car. I also need a place that allows drop off in another city. I’m going the end of May/beginning of June so I’m not sure if it would be warm enough for a convertible.

You can get a convertible any time but driving along the coast is cooler than inland when you reach Southern Cal it is definitely warmer. Hertz has one way rentals but I dont know if there is a drop off charge.

cost:$ 1000- it makes sense because of all the things we do and it covers flight, hotel, food, places we go, and a coach bus to take us places.
fun stuff to do: tons like early morning show appearance, seeing lots of sights in Pennsylvania and New York, going from school, shopping on 5th avenue, seeing a broadway production and more.
I really want to go and I saved up 1/3 of it. My mom said she’ll pay for the rest but she’s not sure whether she wants me to go or not.
Is it worth it??

My husband and I are going to california in sept. we will get to be in san francisco for a couple of days. We will have a rental car. Is it best to stay someplace like fisherman’s wharf, or union square. Or should we stay outside of san francisco and drive to things we wish to see?

.Staying just outside of the city can save you a ton of money on a room rate. So, the question is, how close in time do want to be to the city itself?
Staying at the wharf, you Will be paying premium tourist price for convenience.
It is really only about a 15 min. ride to stay just over either bridge just out of the city itself.

Found langkawi,KL and Cameron highlands good. Are they worth watching? And is it a good place to visit with kid? Pl also suggest an itenary and goid hotels with budget in mind. Need to start and be back in singapore
langkawi and Penang are on the other end. Planning for KL and cameron highlands now. Any other beach areas neearby KL or CH?

I am leaving southern Illinois for a good old fashioned New York road trip. Are there any suggestions as to where on the way would be fun to stop and check out? Also, what are the best “must see” New York attractions? We will only be there for a few days. Thanks!

In NYC metropolitan area:
- See Theodore Roosevelt’s House in Oyster Bay.
- See Vietnam Memorial near Maiden Lane (lower Manhattan)
- Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge
- West Point Military Academy (Really it’s worth it.)
- If you’re a fan of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, then take a trip to Tarrytown

We want to take a train there from pennsylvania area and stay for 3 days. we also want to see a broadway play. what are playing? what hotels are resonable but awesome? what should we do? person wiht the best “itenerary” gets the 10pts. i apprecaiate anything legit. thanks!

No offence, but these are all things you can find by using Google.
I would recommend buying one of those “Guide to New York” books from Lonely Planet… it will have everything you could possibly want to know, from hotels to restaurants, and attractions to helicopter rides.

my boyfriend and i are trying to come up with a weekend road trip or camping trip, we badly need a little vacation, preferably staying around New York or Pennsylvania, we need something that is low in costs any ideas? also does anyone know hotel/campground cabin rates?
