We are looking to travel from Knoxville to Washington DC. Prices to fly are outrageous, and are not really into the idea of driving. Is there any type of rail road or alternate way of getting there? Thank you in advanced.

There’s the uncomfortable Greyhound but for a seven to eight hour ride it might not be so bad. If you want Amtrak the nearest location to Knoxville is Greenville, SC. I plotted June 1 and 2, a Mon and Tues and it’s $ 80 one way on Amtrak.

It is possible, but that’s a very long commute. Most people who make it work go down for the whole week, and then come back on the weekends. You may want to look into flights – sometimes the commuter flights aren’t much different than the train prices.

I have bad news for you: I’ m not aware of any public transportation to the Nissan Pavilion–which is on the far outskirts of Washington, DC. No train, no bus, no shuttle van. The only way to get there is to drive.
From NYC to DC is easy: you can fly, take Amtrak, Greyhound, or any of the “Chinatown” budget buses that go over that route. Once in DC, you can take the Metro subway into the Virginia suburbs, going as far as the Vienna station, but then there’s a large gap until you get to the Nissan in Bristow, where the only option is to drive.
If you want to check directly with the Nissan Pavilion, you can call their box office at this number: 703-754-6400. It’s possible that they’ll know of some bus service that I’m not aware of.

So, on Feb 20, my family and I wil go to Singapore, any spots on Singapore where there is less money to spend because I heard that it is a bit expensive there. Any food restaurants that are cheap but very satisfying, not only to the stomach but to the pocket as well?

What is little India like? Is it hot on Singapore?
AH!, there are a lot of questions that goes through my head the more we go near our date flight…. any Travel advice on Singapore would do, please help me…. thanks

expensive – yes and no (depend on where you lives presently)
resturant is not cheap , cheap food try hawker centre
Merlion and little india is free of charges
singapor etemp is around 28 – 34 celcious

Can you swim? Newfoundland is an island. You can go by bus and ferry. Check kayak.com has prices for travel options When you add up the time factor and meal costs for bus rail, air may be cheaper..Can fly from Newark to St John’s on United .Other good connection via Halifax limited train service but good bus connections to various U.S. points read the schedules for what’s good. There are bus ferry connections between Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. Check the schedules. Book ahead watch for sales and discount periods.

We are flying into KL at 0540 Saturday Early morning, on a Tiger Airways Flight from Singapore, am told its very expensive and time consuming to take a taxi. What are the alternatives ? At what prices?Couple on a shoestring budget….

Take bus from LCCT to KL Sentral.
Take LRT to Pasar Seni station. Chinatown is just short thrown away.

A friend wants to visit me(I live in Cleveland) from Washington DC this week. It’s very frustrating because there are so many cheap ways to get from DC to cities like NYC, Boston, or Philadelphia, but no cheap way to get to Cleveland. I know it’s not as important as these other cities, but it’s not that far from DC. I have tried everything–Greyhound is ridiculously expensive and it seems to be the only bus line that travels from DC to Cleveland. Airplane tickets are expensive and I can’t find a good share-a-ride type sites. He needs to find something for less than $ 100.

Sorry, even Amtrak would be about $ 200 roundtrip. I don’t know anything to suggest since you’ve tried bus and airlines.
