you would need to take bart from SFO to Powell Street Station and then either walk or take cab from BART.
Board Pittsburg/Bay Point train at SFO airport. Get off at Powell Station. It is about a 30min ride. One way tick is $ 8.10.
tonalc2: on the map SFMOMA is right kind of sort of between the Montgomery and Powell…take your pick really. montgomery to SFMOMA is 1/2 mile. and Powell to SFMOMA is like maybe 3/4 mile depending on where you cross over.

Train is definitely the most pleasant. There is room to recline your chair, you can stand up and walk around if your legs get tired, the bathrooms are cleaner (the bus might not have bathrooms at all), you can sit in a different car if someone near you has a crying baby, and food is served. You’ll prefer the train.

How long would it take to get from New York City to Las Vegas by train?
Posted by Mostafa Safavi in All about New York on August 27th, 2011
Question by Tom R: How long would it take to get from New York City to Las Vegas by train?
My girlfriend and I are planning a vacation to New York (Manhattan), and then onto Las Vegas Strip (to get married!). We want to travel by train (she says it’s “more romantic”), but I’m just wondering how long, exactly, that would take? Also, what’s the closest train station to Las Vegas strip?
Could someone please help me plot a course? Please help me out!!

Q&A: Cheap train tickets from Atlanta,GA to Islip,NY,help?
Posted by Mostafa Safavi in All about New York on July 26th, 2011
Question by Muggle Born Muslima: Cheap train tickets from Atlanta,GA to Islip,NY,help?
I’m going to new york this summer. my summer schooling doesn’t end until, june 28th,so, i’d kinda like to get the ticket on the 29th or 30th. i’m gonna stay with my cousin until the 3rd or 4th, than my dad is gonna come get me from her house in central islip and take me to his house west islip.
my dad is gonna pay for it, but he really doesn’t have any money, so i’m looking for some dirt cheap tickets, i refuse to take the plane cuz i’m scared of them, and the bus, cuz of that recent baseball team accident, and know one wants to drive. the other thing is , i want my mom to go,i need some one on the train with me, i’m not to fond of strangers.my dad said he wouldn’t pay for her though, cuz of the money. she’s gonna stay with me and my cousin until i go to my dad’s house, then come back to geogia. i think, if i can just find two tickets for the price of one or something, my dad will pay for it.oh yeah, i’m 15 and my mom is 37,.
my mom had hip surgery, so she walks with a cane, she had kidney failure, now with a new kidney, and we are both students.
i know that some train stations discount for students and dissability, so i figured i’d let you know.
by the way, i will be staying for a year, my mom is the only one coming back home.

Q&A: Are there train / steam train tours at or near San Francisco?
Posted by Mostafa Safavi in All about San Francisco on July 9th, 2011
Question by Tony: Are there train / steam train tours at or near San Francisco?
I went to San Francisco about 6 months ago and picked up a lot of the tourist brochures. I remember picking one up that said something about a steam train ride and I believe it was for muir woods. I can’t find it for the life of me on the internet!
It may have been a little kiddy steam train or a full fledged one but i cant find it.

Answer by Neil
It wasn’t Muir Woods. It was most likely either the “Skunk Train” which is way up north, in redwoods, or Roaring Camp RR, about 50 miles south of SF and also in redwoods.
Or, it might have been for the little steam trains in Tilden Park in the East Bay.
Otherwise… well, there are railroad museums in SF and Fairfield (I don’t they have any rides) and in Sacramento (they do.) Ardenwood Farm (East Bay Regional Parks) has their railroad running occasionally for special events, and there’s an excursion railroad in Niles Canyon (also in the East Bay.)
