That is NOT true, and look very carefully on the fine print and other destination charges for one way rental (that is not returning to the originating location)

I know my daughter would go crazy over the Panda’s. Well my book from AAA says to call the zoo ahead of time to make sure we can see them. Apparently it is only a limited number of ppl that can see them. But every time I call, the line is busy.
So if someone is familar with the zoo, I would like to know: is there is a list somewhere on the web that I can get on, or if there are tickets to buy or something?

Your AAA book was right for last summer. The baby panda, Tai Shan, was just coming out into the enclosure and there were timed entry tickets. Not so anymore. The pandas are out on sunny days and are great fun to watch. No tickets to worry about. In the summer, get to the Zoo early around 9:30 am or parking is a real bear (no pun intended). Lots and lots to see at the Zoo. The new Asia Trail is open and is part of the panda exhibit area.
Do not miss other exhibits on your all-day tour of the Zoo. The elephants, hippos, and giraffes are great. Go to the small mammal house, the reptile house, and the invertebrate house (right below the reptile house). There is an octopus which gets fed at 11 and 3 every day at the invertebrate house.
The Zoo is free of charge. Parking is kind of pricey at about $ 12 for all day parking but if you take the Metro to Cleveland Park it is about a 10 minute walk and there is no entrance fee to the Zoo.

I’m 26, I like to spend money on entertainment, not on a hotel. I’m not sure how I feel about a hostel, but I’m not totally against them. I don’t want to stay in a typical hotel. I want something that’s typical New York. Not like a Holiday Inn. I’d like to stay where I can walk/subway close by to touristy places.
I think I explained it good enough?? Got anything for me?

u could try sum of the discounted hotels/motels….and trust me anywhere u stay in nyc ull have access to a train station or bus stop thats for sure
as u said uw ant to stay near the touristy spots…so of course u wuld look into the hotels in manhattan which of course will pierce a hole in ur wallet…
if u dunt mind the train hussle…..then i suggest getting a cheaper room in queens and transport to and from manhattan for all the entertainment (which of course wont be cheap)

it’s a cute outfit. kind of boring. maybe spice things up; do something more retro with your hair. vintage clothing can also be a beamer! and i heard that washington is coldish so pack a light jacket just in case!

Hello, I am wondering if someone can help. Does anyone have any suggestions for activities for a 34 year old male in San Francisco? My wife has an all day conference this Friday (10/8) so I am looking for something to do. I am from Minneapolis, MN.
I am staying downtown Union Square area and will not have a rental car. However, I am comfortable using the train, bus, or taxi.
I enjoy sports, outdoors, shopping, good beer, and history. I am not into art. We have been to San Fran on two other occasions and have been to wine country, Alcatraz, and Golden Gate state park.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

You could spend the day in Golden Gate Park! There is a lake where you can rent a paddle boat or canoe. You could visit the Academy of Science, Japanese Tea Garden, Arboretum, Conservatory of Flowers [don't miss the dahlia garden!], stop by the bison paddock, take a break at the Beach Chalet at the west end of park and have a house brewed beer and a snack with a great view of the Pacific.
There is a California Historical Society Museum at 4th and Harrison that you might enjoy. Wells Fargo has a small museum on Montgomery between California and Sacramento.
Around Union Square there is all kinds of shopping. Take a break for a bite to eat, a beer at Lefty O’douls on Geary near Powell. This place is an amazing combination of hoffbrau, sports bar, piano lounge and baseball museum.
