Question by Lor: Can I ride my bicycle from my California Street in San Francisco to Muir Woods?
I’m trying to do away with our rental car for a few days during our trip. Is it possible to ride a bicycle from California street in San Francisco all the way to Muir Woods? Google maps says it’s a 30 minute trip. Are the roads to the woods conducive to bicyclists? Thanks for your help.
**sorry–google maps actually says it’s a 2 hour bicycle trip.

Yes, you can, however Hwy 1 is narrow and busy. Plus the road is steep. You could find some smaller redwood groves in the small towns in Marin. There are a lot of bike trails, you are in the home of mountain biking. Riding over the Golden Gate is a must. From there you have to exit to Saualito. Do some on line research on bike trails in Marin County there are some nice upscale suburban trails in addition to Mt. Tam. and the mountain bike trails.

Yeah Canal Street is actually really crowded during the holiday season. I actually went there yesterday where I bought this really cute knock off Dolce and Gabbana purse and Boss belt. There really isn’t a specific store, they sell it all over. I don’t think there are any Lacoste shirts, at least, i haven’t seen any.

Question by Mustafa H: What was on 3rd street in San Francisco before the SF Museum of Modern Art took it’s place?
The SFMOMA changed it’s location to 151 3rd street in 1995. What kind of building was on that address before the museum moved in?

I just remember a few old typical “south of market” kind of buildings. 1 or 2 story warehouse kind of things. When they initially leveled that block to make room for the new museum, SRL* had a big demo there. That was cool.

Why does “Judge Judy” show New York street scenes after commercial breaks when the show’s taped in Los Angeles?
Posted by Mostafa Safavi in All about New York on April 16th, 2011
Question by simple: Why does “Judge Judy” show New York street scenes after commercial breaks when the show’s taped in Los Angeles?
I used to think the show was taped in New York because after each commercial break, various New York street scenes are shown, sky shots, taxis in the streets and so on. During one episode, there was an earthquake so I found out it’s in fact taped in Los Angeles, so why don’t they use LA scenes instead of NY ones?

JJ lives in New York. She commutes to LA.
No logical reason to do it like they do, except to maybe explain her New York accent!
