I’ll try to go through this s-l-o-w-l-y, O-K?

This is Travel/Japan.
You come here to ask questions about traveling in, guess where, JAPAN.
You want information on hotels in New York.
New York is NOT in Japan, it’s in the U.S.

What all this leads to is that you need to post your question elsewhere.

The names of these mountains in North America seen on a flight from San Francisco to Germany?

Question by VallieValVal: The names of these mountains in North America seen on a flight from San Francisco to Germany?

"Three Sisters", Oregon USA

"Mt Jefferson", Oregon USA

The two photos are of seperate mountains but they were close to one another location wise. I made photos of these mountains back in 2008 when we were flying Lufthansa from San Francisco, USA to Munich, Germany. These mountains would have been somewhere in the Northwest USA (since the flightpath goes that way) or Canada. Does anybody know what they are called or where they could be? I have been wanting to know this for years! Thanks very much for any help.

I’ve seen the ones in the first pic before(from the ground)-I’m pretty sure those are “The Three Sisters” which are located near Bend,Oregon-the one on the left is called “North sister” the other peak on it is called “Middle Sister”-the one in the foreground on the right is called “South Sister” and the one behind that is called “Broken Top”-Google Earth confirms it-you can see that lake just to the right of them(called Sparks Lake) on there too.

There is another mountain near them -a couple miles away called Mount Bachelor-but I think your other pic is more likely Mount Jefferson (about 35 miles away)as Bachelor doesn’t have the steep slope near the top.

Add*-here’s a pic of them from USGS-almost identical to yours only from a lower elevation and a little further east.

What are the names of the Haunted Attractions in New York that are featured on The Travel Channel?

Question by jazz2122: What are the names of the Haunted Attractions in New York that are featured on The Travel Channel?
I remember watching The Travel Channel last year and see the list of scariest haunted attractions. There were a couple in New York, but I can’t remember what they were. Does anyone know?
I’m asking about the haunted attractions they do on Halloween, like haunted houses, mazes, hayrides, etc.

The Hotel Chelsea, commonly known as The Chelsea, in New York City was featured on The Travel Channel’s “Haunted Travels: Haunted Hotels.” Here is a description I found on the Travel Channel’s website: “In addition to its storied occupants, the 12-story ‘cauldron of creativity,’ erected in 1884, is also known for its ghosts. Janis Joplin once rasped, ‘A lot of funky things happen in the Chelsea.’ Indeed. Actress Sarah Bernhardt reportedly slept in a coffin while living here. Thomas Wolfe’s presence has been felt on the 8th floor, while the spirit of Dylan Thomas, who drank away his final days at the Chelsea, seems to have stayed long past check-out time. Board the east elevator and you may share a lift with the ghost of Sex Pistol Sid Vicious, suspected of stabbing his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen, to death in room 100. Roughly half of the Chelsea’s rooms (no two alike) are occupied by long-term residents, meaning your neighbors may be a bit more eccentric than your typical chain hotel clientele.”

The Amityville Horror House — the house that birthed the movies — was featured on “America’s Haunted Houses.” It is located in Amityville, New York, on Long Island. The house is notoriously famous, as demonic voices drove Robert Defeo to murder his entire family in their sleep. Visit the HOUSE’S website here: http://www.amityvillehorror.com/ The website has no affiliation with the movie.

Unfortunately, I am unable to find any information on New York Halloween attractions via the Travel Channel.
