Question by Bleue: Can someone tell me the name of the blue painting that was at the museum of modern art in San Francisco?
I went to the MOMA somewhere between october-novemeber 2007 and there was a blue painting there; the whole canvas was blue, and only blue. I really would love to know the name of the painting?

Yes! That would be Yves Klein’s Blue Monochrome. He painted it with his own mixture of blue to create a new blue that is named for him.It’s called International Klein Blue. Though people like to call his paintings Abstract Expressionist, he was definitely neo-Dada. Some Abstract Expressionists did strip down paintings to their basic elements of form and color (see Barnett Newman) Klein was more interested in what the color blue represented. He did a whole series of blue paintings that represented different cities in the world. The Dada influence is seen mostly in his sculpture though, which true to Dada style, had a sense of humor and absurdity- and often a message about human behavior or politics.
