I’m a newbie from Dallas and like to find somewhere I belong to. Also looking for friends in the bay area.

I think you’ve been waiting so long for an answer because there’s so much to choose from! The best will depend on what you want, and there are too many choices even to list.

In the end, all roads lead to the Castro, but the Mission also has a large lesbian community, and there’s good stuff all over town. I’ve included some links, and some more general links in the sources.
