Which SF hotel is closer to Fisherman’s Wharf?

Question by BOOM: Which SF hotel is closer to Fisherman’s Wharf?
The Hilton San Francisco or The Hilton San Francisco Financial District?

And please don’t reccommend any other hotels, just a little info on these two. Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by rawr.
The Hilton San Francisco is definitely closer to San Francisco’s shopping district, Union Square.

Hilton SF Financial District is closer to Fisherman’s Wharf.

Both the Union Square and Downtown neighborhoods are pretty similar. Large crowds during the day, and a few (usually typical crazy people) walking around at night. Parking is extremely hard to find in San Francisco, but I am sure the Hilton’s will both offer private parking for their guests. If you are thinking about driving a personal vehicle around the east side of San Francisco be prepared to park a long walk from your destination. I would recommend taking public transportation such as cable cars, buses, or BART, or even a taxi. The fare you will pay for public transportation will probably be about the same as you would pay to park.

What is a great hotel in San Francisco near North Beach?

Question by : What is a great hotel in San Francisco near North Beach?
I am looking for a nice hotel in the North Beach area of San Francisco. We are going to the Beach Blanket Babylon show and would like to stay somewhere nearby.

North Beach doesn’t have very many great [read grand] hotel options. There is one small European Style hotel at 444 Columbus Avenue just a block and a half from Club Fugazi

Another option would be the Washington Square Inn 1660 Stockton Street at Greenwich about 4 blocks from Club Fugazi.

A little farther away is the San Remo Hotel at 2237 Mason between Francisco & Chestnut.

I always suggest reading reviews for hotels on Trip Advisor. I’ve found it is the best way to check out hotel before you check in.
