My mom is looking for a good hotel in DC, 130$ or less a night, relatively close to Union Station? Which is where we’ll be arriving there i guess. Anyone know any good places from previous trips there maybe?

I’m visiting SF from San Diego and I was wondering what is a good area to pick my hotel in? Since I’ve never been up there I just don’t know the neighborhoods and what’s close to the sightseeing.

There’s a lot to explore in San Francisco, but a hotel in the downtown area would be your best bet. Particularly in the Van Ness St. or Market St. area. I’d recommend the Mandarin Oriental Hotel (www.mandarinoriental.com), or the St. Regis Hotel (www.stregis.com/sanfrancisco). Both are excellent hotels, very close to public transportation and in the finiacial district so it’s relatively safe. Hope you enjoy the city during your stay.

Okay, so on friday I’m going on a history trip from England to Washington DC. We’ll be spending three days in the city and we’re visiting the White House and various other important monuments. But I want some ideas of places to visit in my free time, good shops, museums, restaurants??? Any advice welcome!

Going to New York soon. Need to plan where we are going to. Planning to go to a Broadway show, the zoo, and Central Park already. Just need one more place to go because we want to have a great time. For at least 5 people. Can you also list some boats that are not much that go AROUND not in Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. Thanks!

You could ride the Staten Island Ferry. It doesnt go around the Statue or Ellis Island, but its pretty close….and free.
The Museum of Natural History was the most interesting museum Ive been to in the City (but Im not a huge museum fan). Its on 78th (I think) & Central Park West – right on the outside of Central Park. There is a $ 15 reccomended price, but if you go to the counter, you can suggest any price you want.

I’m going later this summer
I’m staying outside the city and taking the commuter rail in to the city each day
I’m staying at the Hampton Inn in Linicum Heights in Maryland, for about 100 bucks a night

Hi I really would like to buy a Porsche 944 but I am having trouble convincing my dad that it would be a good car for me. His main arguments are that it would not be good in the snow (I live in Upstate New York). I am willing to buy snow tires but I am not sure about what the ground clearance is on the 944. And he says that insurance would be very high for a teen. Also reliability, but the one I am looking at has only 84k miles on it. I am looking for helpful answers that go either way from expierenced people who have owned 944′s. Thanks!
Also I have done my research so I know they need the timing belts and water pumps and service records. Thanks again!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news. Insurance may not be an issue. so don’t worry about that. But snow…no. You will hate it when you are stuck and the one friend that can fit in the car with you tells you to push so he doens’t have to. Also, you will be so mad when you want to take that girl out and the car is dead due to some simple but expensive to fix problem.
Simply put, you don’t want this as your only car. If you can use dad’s SUV in the snow or when the car is down, then fine. But if you need an everyday year round car, no.

I’m in NZ, parents going to New York next month. They’ve been before but looking for somewhere new to try. Any personal recommendations? We’ve been to Nobu in Las Vegas and Per Se is a bit out of price range. They are total foodies. Also looking for a place with phenomenal ribs for a different day. Suggestions welcome.

Sarah Beth’s is a great restaurant for breakfast and Rosa Mexicana is a great Mexican restaurant. They make really good guacamole at your table.

I inquired online about a flight to perth and found a stop in singapore which is attractive. Are there are destinations that are cheap to also stop at and enjoyable for a few days perhaps when booking a multi stop flight? For example I added bejing before singapore and noticed my flight cost when up from 500 to 1100 pounds, so not there!

I am going with 4 other people to New York City for BPA National Contests in May. We want to try some different ethnic resturants but dont know where to go. We will be staying at the Sheraton Towers so we would like it to be fairly easy to get to from where we are staying.
