Q&A: Where to go in New England in end of Jan?

Question by thetagal13: Where to go in New England in end of Jan?
Im thinking of going to New England from Orlando in end of Jan 2010 and then heading over to Philadelphia then finally back to Singapore. Or from Orlando to Philadelphia then to New England and then to Singapore. Which route is more feasible and cheaper?

Also, which part of New England should i go to? I dun really like city areas. Need it to be convenient for flights cos i dun have that much money. And hopefully is not too cold.

Sorry for the long winded question. And thanks if you can help me out here.

There’s a ton to do in Boston year round and the snowboarding in Vermont and New Hampshire is quite good. For late January, I’d say spend a few days in Boston and a couple in Burlington VT if if you ski/snowboard.

If you’re not into winter sports or city areas – well, don’t come to New England in the coldest most miserable part of the winter. The quaint/touristy/outdoors things that you’d otherwise want to see will be closed for the season.

Any other time of the year I’d recommend Newport, RI and Cape Cod and Nantucket/Martha’s Vineyard in the summer.

I don’t think there’s much of a difference between flying to Philly or Boston from Orlando, and Philly/Boston are fast and quite cheap. I’d probably say go Orland/Philly/Boston only because it’ll be far easier to find a flight to Singapore from Logan airport. It’s more international than anything in Philadelphia.

I’m not sure what the particular draw of Philly is, and it’s the wrong season for New England. I’d go with New York and DC that time of year…

What is the best airline for New York to England flights?

Question by Confused: What is the best airline for New York to England flights?
I am traveling from the New York area to Heathrow next summer around June/July and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of the best or least expensive airline?

If I bought plane tickets in mid-May for late June-July, about how much would they cost? I can’t buy them any earlier, because I’m not 18 yet.

Thanks!

What is the cheapest way to get from England to Singapore?

Question by : What is the cheapest way to get from England to Singapore?
Hi, my friend is moving to Singapore permanently so me and another friend want to go there in the winter (Christmas 2010), but we have been looking at flights there and its about £300-£400 for both of us and we need a cheaper way. We will be 16 and 17 by then so any methods will be helpful, however wacky they are. We were thinking of getting a flight to Bangkok and getting bikes down to Singapore which would be an amazing adventure and great fun but flights there seem pretty expensive too. If anyone knows how to get to Singapore in the cheapest way whether we go directly there or stop off at different countries it would be most helpful.

Thanks a lot.

I think that would be the cheapest. Actually if you can get it for 300-400 that’s really a deal..Even the budget carrier airasia x charges you 400+ during december period.
