Question by j1 projectz: What is a hotel in San Francisco near Club Suite 181 and where’s the beach?
I have some friends going to San Francisco, CA. Who’s an expert or native there? They want nearby hotels if anyone can name a few. And also are there beaches to visit?

Any of the Union Square hotels would be within walking distance of Suite 181. Though it gets seedy walking westbound from the Powell Street subway station, so tell your friends to travel together at night. The Bijou and Metropolis are budget hotels right next to the club. But you’d almost certainly feel more comfortable (not to mention safer) staying at a high-end hotel closer to the square itself. There are certainly no shortages of those — the Westin St. Francis, Grand Hyatt, Campton Place Taj, etc.

By far, Ocean Beach is the easiest stretch of sand to get to. Metro lines N-Judah or L-Taraval goes directly from Downtown San Francisco to the beach. However, it is the least attractive of the area’s beaches.

For nicer scenery, you need to ride a bus to the Presidio (18 for China Beach, 29 for China and Baker Beaches) or Marin Headlands (76 for Rodeo, Black Sands, Tennessee, and Muir Beaches). Note that the 76 only runs on the weekends and that the Marin Headlands beaches might require some serious hiking. They’re a sight to behold though.
