already tried craigslist there’s nothing there,and apartment guide is not for the “fixed income” if you know what i mean….

I find it hard to believe that there was nothing on craigslist. Did you look in sublets, roommates/shares and vacation rentals? I can’t imagine finding temporary apartments cheaper than craigslist.
How about a hostel? They’re like $ 20/night (and up). There are links to hostels and some other places to stay on the NYC tourist center site: http://www.nyctouristcenter.com

Hard to find in New York. Very expensive place to live unless you move to a less desirable area with higher crime rates. Try to find someone renting a room, those are usually reasonable.

Seafarers and International House (http://www.sihnyc.org) and Jazz on the Town (http://www.jazzhostels.com/jazzonthetown.php) (both near Union Square with lots of subways and fun things to see and do) are among the best. My wife and I even recommended them to some of our less affluent wedding guests. (None stayed there, but my parents checked them out and approved and they don’t approve of anything.)
There’s also a pretty new Econolodge a few blocks from Times Square.
Don’t stay in the Hostel on Amsertdam and 102nd. It’s right across the street from a housing project and the neighborhood’s a bit rough.

Madison is not a large city and will probably not have a lot of flights. Therefore ticket prices will be high due to lack of competition. You can see if you can get flights out of Milwaukee as AirTran has a number of flights out of that city. Another option is to fly out of Chicago.
I would suggest you fly into San Francisco versus Oakland as Oakland is an expensive city to fly in and out of.

Two of my best friends are coming to San Francisco(one is 17 and the other is 18 years old), they need a cheap hotel in a good neighborhood and somewhere near Japantown(preferably under 100$ a night) for two weeks

If you can find such a hotel, tell me bc I don’t know of any. Cheaper (under $ 100), but clean motels can be found on Lombard St. Some are chains, many are family owned.

I’m 18 years old and I’m going to New York for my birthday March 2nd with all of my close friends. So I need a room for 4 people (2 double beds) in Bronx, New York or something close by to the Yankee Stadium because my family lives by there and i’ll be having my birthday party around there.
I just need a cheap room that is clean in that area and i’m concerned since I’ve never stayed in a Hotel/Motel in New York besides a really expensive one in Manhattan lol
If you have any experience or you just know of a really nice Hotel/Motel in that area please share! And if you would like to inform me of any cool, cheap, chill and fun restaurants in the Bronx I’d love to know also:) Thank You!!
Oh and i’ll only be staying for a weekend. So 2 nights and 3 days.

It depends on when you plan to fly but I would check out China Airlines, United Airlines or Delta Airlines. Also visit http://www.kayak.com and go to an Asian travel agency and see if they can help you. They can sometimes get really good deals.
