What makes you think “liberals” did that? I thought wealthy conservatives provided all the jobs? What, you suddenly don’t like the “free market?”

Please Help! Speeding ticket on Bay Bridge, San Francisco, CA?

Question by Wes: Please Help! Speeding ticket on Bay Bridge, San Francisco, CA?
I just got a speeding ticket at the S curve on Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge in San Francisco, California. The CHP put down 50+ in 40 on the ticket, specifying that the incident took place at the S curve. Although I haven’t received the letter in mail yet, I know it’s going to be at least 400+ due to recent accidents/incidents on the bridge. I simply can’t afford it because I am saving $ for graduate school. My driving record isn’t perfect but my last speeding/moving ticket was more than 3 years ago and I did go to traffic school for it.

So I have the following questions:

1.Is it worth hiring a traffic lawyer? Hopefully the fine will be reduced or dismissed?
2.If (1) doesn’t work, I would appear on court and plea guilty, would my fine be reduced significantly, given my spotty driving record?
3.In case nothing works and I just have to pay the ticket, is there any payment alternative or community services I could do instead of paying cash? Is there any requirements in order to qualify for the payment plans since I do have the money but I just want to save it for my graduate degree?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
I searched on Yelp and it seems that it cost ~$ 200 to hire a traffic lawyer. I know its taking chance but if it yields something much less than the said fine, it looks worthwhile.

I was at the front of a group of cars going down the bridge and the whole group was travelling altogether since the toll plaza. With this said, I won’t deny I wasn’t speeding. It was a clear night, after 12 at night, no traffic and I was by no means distancing myself from cars behind me. So for those who criticize me for breaking the law, I did go over the limit. But for you, please don’t pretend you never go over speed limit. Everyone does, purposely or accidentally.

Shoulda thought of that BEFORE you broke the law then, huh?
