Tavern on the Green is pricey, but it is wonderful! Plus it is in Central Park and a great place to take a stroll after dinner.

Question by : What are the best beaches to visit within a 120 mile radius of San Francisco?
My boyfriend and I are going on vacation to California and we’re looking into visiting the beaches, but I would like to hear some recommendations from people who either live in the area or have previously visited. I think we are going to attempt some surfing while we are out there so keep that in mind :) Also, if you have recommendations for other attractions, restaurants, etc. that we should visit I gladly welcome any suggestions! :) Thanks for any help!

Pomponio State Beach
or if you like surfing (watching surfing) go check out Mavericks, its AMAZING and it has great tide pools- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mavericks_(location) t
Also, Pigeon point is gorgeous AND there is a lighthouse that serves as a hostel which is soo fun to stay at

then, if you go north of the city, Stinson beach is fabulous, and the windy road along the cliffs to get there is one of the most beautiful car trips in America.

If you especially love desserts, the Cheesecake Factory is awesome. Their cheesecake is to die for! They’re located on the 8th floor of the Macy’s building in the heart of Union Square in downtown San Francisco. This is also a great place to do some shopping. Have fun on your weekend!!

What is the best time of year to look for an inexpensive apartment in San Francisco?

Question by Jackie34: What is the best time of year to look for an inexpensive apartment in San Francisco?
I would really love to move into a studio apartment in the Marina, Pac Heights, pr Presidio Heights areas but I am not willing to pay more than $ 1300. I will be starting graduate school in October (masters in education) as I’ll then be switching careers from sales to teaching in 2 years time. So I’m definitely trying to watch my wallet, yet still live in a nice, safe and convenient area. So I’d like to do my search at the right time of year when rents are typically lower.

They are never low here. If you are in sales it is a simple supply and demand problem. With the limited supply until the demand drops the prices won’t. Your best bet is if gas goes higher and the economy goes in the toilet they may go down. Problem is so could your wages.

Best things to do in San Francisco?

Question by : Best things to do in San Francisco?
What are some of the best things to do or see for a couple of days in San Francisco?

Best answer:

Answer by ajtheactress
My Must Do San Francisco

1. Ride a Cable Car, the only moving historical landmark in the world. Stop off at the Cable Car Barn at Washington and Mason to get a full understanding of this unique form of transportation. Riding the Powell Hyde line will allow you to see Lombard Street the famous crooked street.

2. Visit Alcatraz, this former prison is the most popular destination in San Francisco. The bay cruise to and from the island will give you the opportunity to see the skyline from the water a unique perspective

3. Visit Coit Tower, Beautiful murals inside, impressive bay view from the tower or Pioneer Park at the base. Then descend Telegraph hill via the Filbert Steps on the East side of the park for a unique view of how folks on Telegraph Hill live, more beautiful bay views and the chance to hear and see the famous Parrots of Telegraph Hill.

4. Golden Gate Bridge, not just a feat of engineering, this 1.7 mile span offers incredible views of The City, the bay and the Pacific ocean. Be sure to visit Ft. Point under the bridge for a different view of this San Francisco Icon.

5. Explore Golden Gate Park, this large urban park can consume a whole day. The Japanese Tea Garden, the Deyoung Muesum [American Art], the Arboretum, Bison Paddock, and Paddle boats are all worth a look and watch the sun go down over the Pacific over a drink or dinner at the Beach Chalet.

6. Chinatown, the most densely populated portion of San Francisco offers an abundance of shopping, food and unique architecture found outside of Asia. The best place to buy souvenirs to take home to friends and family.

7. North Beach, traditionally the Italian section of the city which has no beach but abounds in quaint shops, great restaurants and The City’s best coffee options.

8. Civic Center, the largest collection of Beaux Arts buildings in the US. Home to San Francisco City Hall, with a dome larger than the US Capital, the Asian Art Museum and the Modern San Francisco Library with its San Francisco History Room housing an eclectic collection of city artifacts and photographs.

9. Buena Vista Gardens, this urban park is home to the Museum of Modern Art the Museum of The African Diaspora, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and the Metreon it will keep you entertained for hours.

10. Twin Peaks, see The City and the bay spread out at your feet. Especially captivating at night when the lights seem to go on for ever.

What time is the best time to leave washington, dc if I wanna drive to miami?

Question by : What time is the best time to leave washington, dc if I wanna drive to miami?
Im planning to leave to Miami by car on Tuesday the 22nd a couple of days before Thanksgiving, what time is the best time to leave to avoid the most traffic and get there quickest? Also, is the drive that bad and long? people have been telling me its very tough.. Im doing it with a friend so I would drive half and half. and Does anyone know how much it would take and how much it would cost (on average?)

Best answer:

Answer by Chefao
Are you actually leaving from DC? Traffic is non-stop but your best bet is to leave either late at night or every early in the morning. Although heading south during rush hour, should not be that bad. Getting out of here as quick is possible is the key to a good start.

As for the drive. Its really far. Over 1,000 miles and with no stops its going to take 20 hours. Not impossible just a long ways away.
