How to rent a great apartment in San Francisco in Mission/Noe Valley ?

Question by Alexandra L: How to rent a great apartment in San Francisco in Mission/Noe Valley ?
In terms of how to present yourself so that a landlord picks you over the other 50 candidates ? What if its a leasing agent, how do you make yourself special in that case ? Resume (sample?) Cover Letter ?

Best answer:

Answer by SoCal Realtor
Realtors do leases too so if you are trying to rent out an apartment connect with a local realtor who can place it on the multiple listing service. That way all realtors in your area will have access to viewing it and finding a renter. Now, if you are looking to rent an apartment, have a realtor help you find one through the multiple listing service. Fee’s are worked into the deal but they aren’t that much. Hope this helps.
Sincerely,

Rent for an apartment in San Francisco?

Question by Me :) : Rent for an apartment in San Francisco?
I want to go to city college of san francisco, how much is an okay apartment there. how much do you think a college student can afford a month? what are some websites i could look at?

Best answer:

Answer by capwest5a
San Francisco is one of the most expensive cities to live in. Figure on maybe around $ 700+ rent per month for even a small apartment. Don’t forget about all the other bills too, like utilities, food, household items, and such.

San Francisco has a higher unemployment rate than the general US rate.
(S.F. = 10.5%, USA = 9.6%). So it’s going to be tough to find a job there. Plus, you’re going to be atttending college, so that cuts into your available work hours/schedule, reducing your chances of getting hired.

How much is a typical studio apartment, New York?

Question by Johnny: How much is a typical studio apartment, New York?
One room.

I live in St. Petersburg Florida, I make around 10,000 a year.

Can someone give me some information on prices and good locations of Studio Apartments in New York, New York City.

Is living in Jersey cheaper?

The east village, whats the prices and promise of owning an apartment there?

Best answer:

Answer by orrive’s mom
i’m sorry, but if you make 10,000 a year, it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to afford an apartment in nyc, especially in the east village. i live in a studio that is small and underpriced at $ 2100/month. i would suggest you look on craig’s list for a roommate situation in brooklyn or queens – or even staten island – make sure it’s near the subway, so you can get into the city easily. nj is cheaper, yes, but the transportation to and from the city can get pricey.

Sorry I mean 1 bedroom apartment. Thx.

Average is $ 1600/mo. Some will be lower [small apartment, bad neighborhood] and some higher. Renters who have been in a unit for over 10 years pay well below market value.

Is a surrender fee for a New York apartment considered income?

Question by Bob: Is a surrender fee for a New York apartment considered income?
My aunt had a rent stabilized apartment in New York City for 40 years. The owner gave her money ( five figures) to surrender the apartment and move out. It will allow the owner to sell it as a co-op. Is this fee considered income for the purposes of federal income taxes? If so, what “line” should be used?

Best answer:

Answer by Bostonian In MO
Yes, it’s income. It goes on Form 1040, line 21, Other Income.

Q&A: Where should I rent an apartment in San Francisco?

Question by puppymowmow: Where should I rent an apartment in San Francisco?
I plan on moving out there some time between June and September from Chicago. I am looking for relatively cheap (less than $ 600 per person), dog-friendly housing with parking near by. What are some neighborhoods to check out? Is this possible?
I don’t have to move to the city exactly. I am looking to work for a Vegan or veg restaurant within the city. So, I guess I am hoping to find somewhere to live with less than a 30 min commute.
