-Cable cars
and a lot more fun stuff. This is the stuff I did when i went to san francisco.

Question by squiddy: Things to do on a trip to Los Angeles and San Francisco?
I’m possibly planning a trip there and would like some key things to do in those two cities. Also, I need enough stuff to last me about a week and a half. I’m looking for anything from common tourist attractions to hidden treasures. Thanks

For L.A.:
1. Spend a day at the Getty Center
2. Tour a Frank Lloyd Wright house if you like architecture
3. Drive up Laurel Canyon and back down to the valley on the other side, also check out Mulhulland drive. All the Hollywood Hills streets are fun and winding and great for a drive.
4. Splurge and spend a night or two at the Chateau Marmont Hotel, it’s worth it.
5. Visit the Getty Villa, (not part of the main Getty Center). It was recently renovated.
6. Take a horseback ride up to the Hollywood Sign.
7. Drive west on Sunset Blvd to the ocean, then go to Santa Monica, then back to Hollywood on Santa Monica Blvd.

Beach Cruiser Bike Tour from Los Angeles to San Francisco?

Question by MsQueen: Beach Cruiser Bike Tour from Los Angeles to San Francisco?
With a multi-speed Beach Cruiser, Can I go from Los Angeles to San Francisco? If not, why not? I don’t want a mountain bike or anything like that. And if yes, any advice or tips? I plan to take it slow because it’s my first time.

Wow! Not to be a bring down but you obviously have no idea how far San Franciso is.
It takes anywhere from 6-8 hours by car. Not that its impossible as there are *professional* cycling tours that lasts hundreds of miles (AMGEN of California and AIDS Cycle for example)–but these rides are done by professional rides in top physical shape and certainly none on beach cruisers either.
I suggest to re-think that again and ride a road bike and go on a real bike ride, not just around the block. Try for 25 miles first and work yourself up.
Good luck!

Round Trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco via Las Vegas?

Question by 100%OZ: Round Trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco via Las Vegas?
Hi Guys, I am in the process of planning a trip. I am from Australia and have no idea of what I am getting myself into. We want about 3 weeks doing this trip which I think is plenty of time. Starting from Los Angeles doing all the tourist stuff then driving to Grand Canyon, Vegas, Yosemite etc etc all the way to San Francisco then back down the coast line to Los Angeles and leave for home. Not too sure how much money we are doing to need. Inc car rental, accommation (we are not fussy at all so 3 star or less is fine) Food, petrol, spending money. I feel totally in over my head trying to organise this trip. We are leaving at the end of October this year flights are costing us $ 1300 AUD return each which is fantastic. do you think that in total $ 5000 to $ 6000 in total will be enough to do this trip? I need all the input imaginable and please if anyone can tell me if they have done this trip. Cheers.

US$ 6000 will cover it as long as you gamble no more than say $ 100 in Las Vegas.
I live in LA and have driven all over these places. Been to Vegas far too many times.

Q&A: Where can I rent a Mini Cooper for Los Angeles to San Francisco?

Question by travelrob: Where can I rent a Mini Cooper for Los Angeles to San Francisco?
I’m flying into LAX for vacation and out of San Francisco and need to have a car for the week. Does anyone know of a company that does one way rentals for Minis?

I know of a couple of car rental places at LAX that rent Minis, but you’d have to return it to the same place you rented it from. You’d probably have to rent from one of the big chain rental companies for a one-way rental like that, but I don’t if they have Minis. I sort of doubt it.
One place you might want to call is Fox Rent-A-Car. I know they have offices in San Francisco and they will rent out of the ordinary rental cars. You might get lucky with them.

Question by Johnny5: How is the overall job market in San Francisco compared to Los Angeles?
Would it make sense that finding a job in Los Angeles would pose more of a problem then San Francisco, due to the overwhelming amount of people in SoCal?

Question by Anonymous: Can you be an actor in Los Angeles if you live in San Francisco?
My family owns a rent-controlled apartment in San Francisco, where I want to stay after college, but I also want to do movie work in LA. Is it realistic to have an agent in Hollywood and fly down for auditions, even if I live in SF? Has anybody ever done this?
Best answer:
Answer by R K
no, if you want to work in LA, that’s where you will need to be. you can’t fly to LA every other day for an audition.
